A real world scenario!Recently a client of ours, called to report that they were having a problem with their system making a beeping noise. We immediately diagnosed the problem as a SCSI Raid hard drive problem and contacted the hardware provider. (For those non-technical people, SCSI Raid is a technology that provides 2 hard drives which are exact copies of each other. In case of a hard drive failure on 1 of the drives the other drive continues working and the system indicates that the 2nd drive is down so it can be repaired).
We then established a 3 way conference call with the client, meridianEMR, and the hardware provider. The hardware provider stated that they needed to take the client’s system down to fix the problem. The client was concerned because they were in the middle of a very busy day of seeing patients.
meridianEMR said “no problem” and within a minute had all of the staff and physicians in the office that were connected to that local server switch over to meridianEMR’s master Web server.
Because of meridianEMR’s Blended Model Technology of providing a local server in the client’s office as well as a Master Server that is updated on a real-time basis over the web, every single piece of client data was on the Master Server ready to go for the client to use at that moment. The client simply had to log-in to the meridianEMR master server and kept right on going while their local server was repaired. Our client stated that, “We were in the middle of a very busy day with patients and we were able to switch to meridianEMR’s master server without any interruption or inconvenience.”
Once their local server was repaired, the client simply logged back on to their local server and continued working. The client did not experience a single moment of down time and had access to all their patient electronic medical record data at all times.
