marked with a "Red Flag" and will always appear at the top of the category. These include emergency situations as
well as Images and Labs that are marked as Abnormal.
You don't even have to click on an item to view the details.
Simply hover (move your mouse over) over a specific item and you will see the notes attached to that item. This allows you
to do a quick review to determine which chart needs to be addressed first.
When hovering over the item you can
also see the patient's home and work phones, email address, as well as the audit of who in the practice sent the item to you
and the audit history or where the chart has been.

| Intelligent Workflow |
What is the generic
user concept that meridianEMR has designed into it's workflow?
meridianEMR has pioneered the development of the
generic user concept. This provides the ability to send charts to a virtual user to which a number of real users can be attached.
For
example, when a patient arrives for an appointment that chart moves from the provider's appointment list to the generic (virtual)
nurse. This appointment will then automatically appear in all the real nurse's workflows that are attached to that generic
user.
Each of the real nurses can immediately see that the patient arrived. The patient will be displayed in italics
which allows the nurse to immediately see the difference between a generic item and one of their real items. When the first
available nurse clicks on the patient they immediately take ownership of the chart and it is then unavailable for all the
other nurses.
Generic Users - Part of the Intelligent Workflow of meridianEMR.
As an added feature -
The Appointment Navigator component of the Intelligent Workflow provides a single click on the patient that arrived. This
moves them out of the provider's workflow and into the correct generic workflow automatically. They are displayed as Pending
(blue text) with the date and time of their arrival. Less time clicking more time spent with the patient.
